In Memory. Robert Smith, formerly with Scottie's Building Services and Southern Preservations Systems, recently passed away. He was an active BOMA member, colleague and friend. With BOMA, Robert was very active with the Community Service Committee and generously supported the children at Hillside. He will be missed very much.
TOBY Awards. Enter your building in the 2007 TOBY/Earth Awards Contest. Additional information is posted on the BOMA website. The deadline for notice of intent to enter is Jan. 19, 2007. For more information, e-mail sbarton@boma-atlanta.org.
Association Awards. Enter a colleague or yourself for an association award. Information is posted on the BOMA website. The nomination deadline is Feb. 16.

Experience Exchange Report. BOMA International’s 2007 Experience Exchange Report (EER) Survey is now open, and we would like to invite you to participate. The EER is the most comprehensive and reputable source for operating income and expense data for the office building industry. The online survey is available at www.BOMA.org/2007EERsurvey. You may be assured that all survey data is kept in strictest confidence and only summary statistics will be published.
Winter Business Meeting. The annual BOMA International Winter Business Meeting is January 26-29 in Las Vegas. BOMA-Atlanta will host a dinner for members during the event. If you are planning to attend the Winter Business Meeting, please e-mail geckert@boma-atlanta.org, so that you may get information on the BOMA-Atlanta dinner.

Emergency Planning Seminar - Emergency Plan Components. (Jan. 25) The first in a series of three seminars, it will include a discussion of terrorism, homeland defense, and conventional threat management.
Landscaping Seminar. (Feb. 13) Landscaping is one of the key elements that affects the perception of your building. In fact, proper landscaping may even increase the value of your property. BOMA's Landscaping Seminar will provide you with the information you need to make sound decisions relating to your property's landscaping needs.
Emergency Planning Seminar - Plan Development. (Feb. 22) The second in a series of three seminars, it will instruct participants on how to develop, write & organize a workable and easily executable plan for a wide range of likely emergency situations that may confront a Class A property. There will be guest speakers from the FBI & GA Dept of Homeland Security.

TOBY Awards Notice of Intent to Enter Deadline. (Jan. 19)
BOMA Day at the Capitol. (Feb. 7) The Government Affairs Committee is hosting its annual BOMA Day at the Capitol event from 8 to noon on Feb. 7. During the event, BOMA members interact informally with elected officials, capitol staffers and others involved in state politics. For more information, e-mail geckert@boma-atlanta.org.
BOMA Bash. (Feb. 15) BOMA Bash is an informal social and networking opportunity for property managers, facility managers and building engineers, hosted by a select group of allied member sponsors. There is no charge to attend the event, although advance registration is required. Attendance is limited to the first 80 individuals who register. TOBY and Association Awards Banquet, Presented by AlliedBarton Security Services. (March 14) One of the most exciting events of the year, the luncheon will spotlight this year's TOBY and Association Awards winners. Registration and payment is required to attend.
