BOMA-ATLANTA NEWS
City of Atlanta Endorses the 7-Point Challenge
BOMA companies across the nation are transforming the marketplace by accepting the 7-Point Challenge, and the City of Atlanta is now promoting the challenge as well. BOMA International's Market Transformation Energy Plan and 7-Point Challenge is a plan to reduce energy consumption in commercial buildings by 30 percent by 2012. BOMA-Atlanta would like to encourage Georgia companies to take part in this program and join over 100 BOMA member companies and local associations in committing to make improved energy performance a priority.
Sandy Springs Proposes a New Elevator Lobby Policy
The City of Sandy Springs has proposed an ordinance mandating that building owners upgrade and/or provide new elevator lobbies when the elevator lobby or exit access corridor is a part of the new work within an existing building. Providing elevator lobbies within existing buildings that were previously exempted from these provisions has proven to be extremely difficult and very costly to building owners. Click here to read more about this ordinance. To become an advocate for this issue or another government affairs issue, contact Laura Kenney at lkenney@boma-atlanta.org.
New Sustainability Summit

Come learn how sustainability through energy efficiency can make economic sense and improve your bottom line. BOMA-Atlanta is also seeking approval for three hours of CEU for participants who hold a Georgia Real Estate license. For more information, or to register for the summit, click here.
