BOMA-ATLANTA NEWS

Sports Outing a Huge Succes. The 2008 BOMA Sports Outing presented by Choate Interior Construction was a sold-out success, thanks to the efforts of the 2008 Sports Outing Committee, led by John Smith, RPA, SMA, with Mallory & Evans Service and Mark Dukes, RPA, with Duke Realty Corporation. The hard work of Sports Outing Committee members and volunteers was instrumental to the success. Both golf tournaments were sold out, with 288 golf players registered, and the tennis tournament was sold out, with 30 players. We have received much positive feedback from attendees at the event. By all measures, it was a tremendous success! It's not too early to reserve a sponsorship for the 2009 sports outing. To have your name placed on a sponsorship list, contact Nancy Hodge at nhodge@boma-atlanta.org or 404-475-9980.

2008-2009 TOBY Competition Now Open. Local winners of the TOBY Award advance to regional competition, and regional winners advance to international competition. Now is the time to nominate your building for this prestigious award and demonstrate the value of your building to your owner! To enter a building into competition, download the entry requirements packet, complete the Notice of Intent and Data Information Sheet, and send them to the BOMA-Atlanta office by Dec. 31, 2008. For more information about the program, click here

2008 Salary Survey, Thirty property management companies that are members of BOMA-Atlanta have provided information to form the basis for our bi-annual salary survey. The survey provides a useful way to benchmark salary and benefits within the commercial real estate industry, and it can be a useful tool during this year’s budgeting process. Survey participants receive a free copy. This year, for the first time, we will be offering a package deal. You can save money by ordering both the 2008 survey and the 2006 survey. Purchasing both allows you to compare and contrast costs over the years. To download the survey order form, click here.

BOMA Launches SOS Program. Need help making sense of sustainability? BOMA International's SOS program is here! The Sustainable Operations Series (SOS) of four Webinars will cut through the overwhelming and sometimes confusing information in the marketplace and teach practical ways to green your building's operations. Whether you're looking to implement some new cost-savings measures or preparing for LEED® certification, every step you take can positively impact your bottom line and the community. For more information, including Webinar dates and costs, click here.

Support the BOMA PAC. During the past few years, BOMA-Atlanta’s legislative efforts have returned value to building owners and protected the industry from undue regulation, leading to significant tax savings, less government regulation and other victories. A strong Political Action Committee (PAC) is necessary to maintain this legislative momentum. The BOMA PAC supports political candidates whose views are most aligned with the commercial real estate industry. Your company’s financial support of the BOMA PAC is critical to providing legislative representation and protecting the value of the buildings you own and manage. To support the PAC, make your contribution payable to the BOMA Political Action Committee and mail it to the BOMA-Atlanta office at 2987 Clairmont Road NE, Suite 100, Atlanta, GA 30329.
