BOMA-ATLANTA NEWS

Fight the Atlanta Water and Sewer Rate Increase. The Atlanta City Council will be voting June 19 to raise city water and sewer rates each of the next four years. The current proposal calls for water and sewer bills to be increased 27.5 percent during the next fiscal year starting July 1, with an increase of 12.5 percent in 2010 and 2011, and an increase of 12 percent in 2021. These increases are in addition to Mayor Franklin's $4 billion water and sewer programs. Call your City Council representatives and urge them to defeat the plan, or delay it until more information is gathered. To find your representative, click here to view a map of the city districts, note your district number, and then find your district's representative on this page. Note that you can use the zoom and "Find on page" functions to more easily find your street and therefore district.
