BOMA-ATLANTA NEWS

Fight the Drought Surcharge. Atlanta City Council members are considering placing a 15 percent surcharge on all water/sewer bills to recoup the city's anticipated loss of money from drought-related legislation. On March 19, Council members held a public hearing in City Hall to address the drought surcharge. Representatives from BOMA-Atlanta spoke at the hearing on behalf of the association, and BOMA-Atlanta Government Affairs Committee Chair Kevin O'Sullivan was quoted in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's article on the subject. The Council will consider the surcharge again on April 15. There is still time to protect your valuable interests by opposing the surcharge. Contact your representative to make sure that this surcharge is not approved! To view a list of Council members and their contact information, click here. To view the surcharge ordinance is its present form, click here.
