Mastering Essentials of Human Resource Management Seminar. BOMA-Atlanta is proud to introduce a new management seminar. Designed for new and experienced managers, the September 18 seminar will teach you what the successful supervisor needs to know, be and have.
2007 Legislative Session Update. After the 2007 Session of the General Assembly, Governor Perdue had until May 30 to sign or veto bills that made it to his desk. He freely used his power to veto projects and bills. Find out which bills he vetoed and which bills are pending in the latest update from BOMA lobbyist FiveashStanley.

UPCOMING EDUCATIONAL COURSES
Click on the course title to register. Dates listed are course start dates. Starting in June, most courses will be held at BOMA-Atlanta's new location on Clairmont Road.
BOMA PM 201. (June 25) Take your property management skills to the next level. This course is the next step for those who have completed PM 101 or who have experience in the property management field. The five-day course will be taught over five consecutive weeks to teach you necessary skills in accounting and reporting, leasing and marketing, risk management, emergency planning and overall property management.
Law and Risk Management. (June 27) In today's complex business environment, it is becoming increasingly important for property managers to know how to address legal and risk management issues. This course will provide you with a foundation in the basic principles of law and risk management. In addition to covering leasing, the course covers important issues concerning torts, contracts, employer/employee relations, property rights and environmental law. The course describes the risk management process, covering assessment of loss exposures and handling daily risks that property managers encounter. You will learn about the insurance market, different types of insurance policies and the claims adjustment process. The course also covers equipment breakdown insurance, which is an area of growing concern for real estate managers.
Asset Management. (July 11) Property managers today work hand-in-hand with asset managers and often serve as asset managers themselves. As a property manager, you need to understand the asset manager's role, function and place in real estate and business. This course will detail the role and responsibilities of an asset manager, as well as provide you with the skills to fulfill this position. You will learn to develop an asset management plan, including appropriate human, physical and financial resources. You will learn about the measurement of financial objectives, including audits and reasons for them. You will gain an understanding of property acquisition, disposition and evaluation of troubled property alternatives.

June BOMA Bash. (June 21) Sponsored by AlliedBarton, Disaster Services, Parthenon Realty, Mallory & Evans and Mid America Metals, the June BOMA Bash is an informal social and networking opportunity for property managers, facility managers and building engineers. There is no charge for property managers, facility managers and BTO managers to attend the event, although advance registration is required.
BOMA Open House. (July 26) Help celebrate BOMA-Atlanta's move to a new location at the BOMA Open House July 26 from 2 to 6 p.m. Guests are welcome and no RSVP is required. We look forward to seeing you at the Open House on 2987 Clairmont Road, N.E., Suite 100, Atlanta, GA 30329.
August BOMA Luncheon (August 8) BOMA luncheons are educational and provide valuable networking and professional development experiences. Sponsored by Mid America Metals, the August luncheon features guest speaker David WIlkinson, president/CEO of the Atlanta Police Foundation, who will discuss Operation Shield, an integrated technology that will bridge the communication gap between the Atlanta Police Department and the private and business security communities. The event is free for members and $50 for non-members. Registration is required.There is an additional $25 late registration fee for members and non-members for registrations after August 3.
