Legislative Session. The Georgia state legislative session is underway. Watch the advocacy section of the BOMA-Atlanta website for weekly updates.
Silent Auction. The Trade Show Committee is sponsoring a Silent Auction in conjunction with this year's Trade Show on May 11. Funds raised will benefit Hillside. Hillside is Atlanta's oldest organized charity. It provides treatment and education to severely emotionally disturbed children, adolescents and their families. Hillside's programs emphasize a supportive structured environment, individualized treatment plans and caring, functional families. All BOMA members are encouraged to donate items, with a $50 minimum value, to the silent auction. To donate an item, e-mail the item description and estimated value to Shirley Barton, sbarton@boma-atlanta.org. For more information, call 404-475-9980 x 2.

Emerging Trends & New Technologies in Real Estate Seminar. (April 25) Still feel like youre behind on new technologies for your business? This seminar will take you through the latest technology solutions to help you work more efficiently, ultimately saving you time and money. Learn about the industrys hottest technology trends, such as automated leasing, property mgmt software & portals, paperless invoicing, time mgmt tools, voice over IP, the newest version of Google Earth and more.
Ethics Is Good Business ShortCourse. (May 7) This course helps you understand the affect that ethical behavior can have on your professional performance and your property's bottom line. Through presentations of real-life scenarios and case studies, you will identify and resolve ethical dilemmas that can occur on the job.
Design Operation and Maintenance Part I. (May 16) This course provides information property and facility managers need to manage the ongoing operation and maintenance of building systems and to maximize building efficiency and cost-effectiveness. It also provides information on building design and construction, project delivery, construction materials, and HVAC (heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning) systems. Other areas covered in the course include roofing systems, ceilings and floorings, interior walls, and plumbing systems

April BOMA Luncheon. (April 11) The April Luncheon is sponsored by EPIC Response. BOMA luncheons are enjoyable and educational. They are also a valuable networking and professional development experience. The luncheon topic will be Pandemic Influenza and Continuity Planning, and the featured speaker will be Dr. Toby Merlin, from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. A new member orientation program will be conducted before the luncheon.
Hillside Luncheon Fundraiser. (April 27) The BOMA Community Service Committee is hosting a fundraiser for Hillside at Fleming's Steakhouse at 4501 Olde Perimeter Way, Atlanta, GA. Join us in the Fleming's dining room as we enjoy networking, lunch and raising funds for Hillside.
BOMA-Atlanta Trade Show. (May 11) The Trade Show will be 9 a.m. to 4:30 pm. on Friday, May 11 at the Cobb Galleria Centre. All property managers, facility managers, building engineers and exhibiting allied representatives are encouraged to attend the event. No registration is required to attend the Trade Show. Non-exhibiting allied representatives are not allowed on the Trade Show floor. The Trade Show will also be closed during the BOMA Luncheon.
BTO Breakfast. (May 11) The BOMA Technical Organization (BTO) and Superior Commercial Roofing are sponsoring a breakfast for building engineers in conjunction with the BOMA trade show on May 11, 2007. The breakfast will include a seminar on a topic of special interest to building engineers. Registration is limited to building engineers and is free of charge to BTO members; however, pre-registration is required to attend the event to ensure that the correct number of meals are ordered.
